Black Tuesday - A Blog is Born!!

How did it happen? Where did we go wrong? How can we get back?

The road that took Republicans from the heady days of 1994 - Newt Gingrich, Dick Armey, and the Contract With America - to the nadir that was Black Tuesday was a road fraught with obstructions, detours, and speed-bumps. No, I not referring to the War on Terror, missing WMDs, or any of the other knee-jerk excuses offered over the past 24 hours. What brought Republicans to this point was the loss a their moral compass. It's been years since we've heard talk of flat-taxes or fiscal responsibility.

So, what do Republicans do now? After the post-election malaise wears off - and they should shake it off quickly - Republicans should see the silver lining of Black Tuesday. As noted by conservative blogstars Michelle Malkin, David Frum, and Brian Maloney, Americans didn't move away from Republicans, rather, Republicans moved away from the Gingrich Revolution of 1994.

The Tallahassee Sentinel will work over the next two years to expose traitors to the cause. It's time to force the moral compass back into the hands of Republicans - drag the GOP back to the ideas of the Contract. We will serve as a conduit between you and those working to restore the revolution.
